About Us

The Tourette Syndrome Association, Inc. was formed in New York in 1972. The TSA Michigan Chapter was formed in 1974. Locally the TSA Michigan Chapter includes almost 800 members and area contacts throughout Michigan. Nationally TSA includes almost 7000 members, approximately 50 chapters, and more than 300 support groups nationwide.

TSA's Mission is to identify the cause of, find the cure for and control the effects of the disorder. Today, the TSA has grown into a major or national; health-related organization with approximately 50 U.S. chapters and 300 support groups, and International Contacts around the World.

The local chapter is linked with the National TSA, and serves all of Michigan, based in the city of Madison Heights.

Our Mission:

The mission of the Michigan Chapter of TSA is to:
  • To provide service, information, and support to people with Tourette Syndrome and their families;
  • To educate medical and educational professionals in order to increase their understanding of TS; and
  • To promote a greater understanding of TS within the community at large.
